Fall 2025 Junior Tennis Program

The LCTC Junior Tennis Program will be under the direction of Terence Rosenthal, Head Professional and Mike Wojtkowski, Facility Director. Both are USPTA and PTR Certified Coaches. They have over 50 years of experience coaching tennis of all ages and levels.

Junior Development Program- These classes are designed to get kids playing tennis quickly with age appropriate racquets, balls, and court size. Through dynamic drills, kids learn quicker and develop better technique than using conventional equipment.  Classes are designed for kids to develop tennis specific hand-eye coordination skills, stroke technique and movement necessary to play the game. The goal is for students to progress to being able to rally and play points, in some cases, in a single session.

10&Under Tennis is rapidly growing throughout the United States and Europe, and for a good reason. The USTA has released specific recommendations for differently aged (and skilled) players. Although every student is an individual and there can always be exceptions to the rule; the USTA has done extensive research proving the benefits of court-size reduction and ball decompression regarding Junior Player Development.

USTA Junior Court Recommendations

The reason for using specially-sized courts is to improve a young players core game much more rapidly. These recommendations specify ages and development ranges in order for the parents and/or coaches to make the most informed decisions possible when placing the student on the court. Students who begin their tennis careers on the appropriate sized courts, with the appropriate tennis ball generally experience a higher level of success and less frustration than those who choose not to.
