Welcome to the 2026 Lexington Wildcats Youth Track & Field Competitive Team.
Our Wildcats Youth Track competitive team offers athletes the opportunity to extend their season while continuing their training! We offer all running events and field events: hurdles, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, high jump, and javelin. We also offer the opportunity for athletes to compete in multi-events like the triathlon and heptathlon.
Athletes will have the opportunity to compete against other athletes from different teams.
This is considered a travel sport
Criteria: Age(s) 5 & up
We practice at Meadow Glen Middle School twice per week on Tuesday/Thursday. Practice starts at 6:00 pm.
As the season grows we will move to the high schools (LHS) which provides more for our athletes. We will have some optional practices on Sundays.
Additional throws/jumps/hurdle practices are held throughout the season.
To compete at meets you must attend two practices a week. If your athlete is not coming to practice, they will not be entered into meets.
You must commit to the summer season.
You must commit to either the USATF or AAU state meets. You can commit to both. USATF/AAU memberships are required to be obtained by 5/24.
USATF is recommended for distance and throws.
AAU is recommended for sprinters and jumpers.
Both divisions are competitive for all events. However AAU meets are more competitive for sprinters/jumpers. USATF meets are more competitive for distance and throwers.
