Volunteer Services

BY TOUCHING ONE LIFE AT A TIME, VOLUNTEERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

For LCRAC’s Council on Aging, volunteers are the keys to our success. Volunteers are needed to support many of the services and programs we offer. Whatever your unique gift, talent, or passion may be, there is an opportunity to join our dedicated volunteer base. Volunteering does not mean you must give up all of your free time. Volunteering as little as a couple of hours a month can make a world of difference.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

Aging Administration (data entry, research, phone calls, mailings, & fundraising)

Meals on Wheels (meal delivery and meal packing assistance)

Senior Center (senior center projects, RSVP projects and more)

Special Events (fundraising, holiday projects, service projects and more)

THE REWARDS OF VOLUNTEERING ARE IMMEASURABLE.

" I have volunteered for 19 years for Meals on Wheels thru my company, Southeastern Freight Line. Southeastern has about 55 associates that deliver during a month and it has been an enjoyable experience. Over the years, Southeastern has received cards thanking us for what we do but we receive much more than we give... What a blessing it is to be a Meals on Wheels volunteer."                             Susan Howell  (Southeastern Freight Lines volunteer)

"I, along with our group of volunteers, feel that we derive as much spiritual nourishment from delivering the meals as the clients who receive physical nourishment from them.  I don't believe one can find a more rewarding volunteer opportunity."  Mary Cobb (Batesburg-Leesville Presbyterian Church, Group Coordinator)

"I have delivered Meals on Wheels for 13 years.  I get so much joy in what I do.  I am also a senior citizen, so I love talking with clients we serve.  They are such sweet people.  I deliver because I love doing things from my heart.  I think if I got paid, I would not enjoy it as much!  Delivering Meals on Wheels motivates me to do more in my community."  Catherine Hutto (Swansea Senior Center volunteer)

Becoming a LCRAC’s Council on Aging volunteer is simple. Volunteers start by calling either their senior center of interest or our administrative office. You will be asked to fill out volunteer information forms and will be given an orientation.
