Lexington County Recreation and Aging (LCRAC), along with hundreds of other Meals on Wheels Programs across the nation will be celebrating the 16th annual March for Meals. The event’s purpose is to build and strengthen community partnerships needed to enable programs to deliver nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks to America’s seniors throughout the year.
LCRAC’s March celebration also entails mayors across the various municipalities signing mayoral proclamations and calling for their communities to rise to action. In addition, leaders across the county will deliver meals during Community Champions Week (March 19-23) to connect with the senior community.
Events are scheduled throughout the month to raise funds to support meals to seniors and encourage community members to volunteer by delivering meals, volunteering at one of our senior center facilities, or assisting in other ways.
