2017 March for Meals Campaign

About March for Meals

Lexington County Recreation and Aging (LCRAC), along with hundreds of other Meals on Wheels Programs across the nation will be celebrating the 15th annual March for Meals. The event’s purpose is to build and strengthen community partnerships needed to enable programs to deliver nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks to America’s seniors throughout the year.

LCRAC’s March for Meals celebration will include a campaign kickoff at the Icehouse Amphitheater on March 1 at 10:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend and help celebrate almost 37 years of Meals on Wheels services to the Lexington County community.

LCRAC’s March celebration also entails mayors across the various municipalities signing mayoral proclamations and calling for their communities to rise to action. In addition, leaders across the county will deliver meals during Community Champions Week (March 20-24) to connect with the senior community.

Events are scheduled throughout the month to raise funds to support meals to seniors and encourage community members to volunteer by delivering meals, volunteering at one of our senior center facilities, or assisting in other ways. Click here for more details about the March for Meals Campaign.
